One of the first hotel groups in Italy to emphasize the theme of environmental sustainability describes its strategies for 2022.
Even accommodation facilities are focusing on sustainability to “pamper” increasingly aware guests. For example, there are many actions taken by Best Western to make tourism in its hotels more sustainable: “For the past 10 years, the hotels of the group have joined our sustainability programs, Stay For The Planet and Stay PlasticLess, two platforms that ensure control and environmental attention on the impact of the activities of every structure of our group” explains Sara Digiesi, Chief Marketing Officer of BWH Hotel Group Italy.
Such actions aim to take care of this evolved and aware traveller: “The focus on the environment with Stay For The Planet, together with the recent agreement against food waste with Too Good To Go, are concrete active projects for contemporary travellers. In addition, due to the pandemic, we activated programs for sanitation, hygiene and spacing with the protocol Special Protection, also thanks to the use of technology with payment platforms and check-in digitalization. We periodically listen to our guests also thanks to our loyalty programs that are currently joined by 48 million subscribers all over the world”.
“In 2021, we had a great summer and positive results until the market slowdown in December. However, we have successfully carried on our network development and affiliation activities: 11 facilities entered the group, some of which were immediately operational on the systems". Of these, six are already bookable: three structures in Vico Equense (Axidie Resort, Axidie Residence and Le Ancora), Hotel Raffaello in Rome and Hotel Oasi in Levanto. The Group's offer is highly appreciated for popular tourist destinations such as Levanto, Sorrento, Santa Margherita Ligure and the north of Sardinia.
And what are the expectations for summer 2022? “We are resuming with our usual activities, all our hotels are open. Signals are also coming from proximity international markets: in February we already had good forecasts for the spring period. We are also confident that participating to the BIT will be of great help: it’s the first real opportunity to meet in person with important customers who confirmed their presence from abroad", concludes Sara Digiesi.
